Race Night and Dinner match report

Thank you to all those twenty five or so souls who braved the wind and rain to come to the WAGS Racing Night on Friday evening.

It was a great night - noisy, emotional, toothsome and, for some lucky punters, quite rewarding. We were treated to a decent meal, a few drinks and racing entertainment of a homespun but very exciting nature. It's not often nowadays that you see an 8 mm cine projector and portable screen!

All the races were well supported but the highlight of the evening was the WAGS free bet race The Hutton Report Stakes - the 6th on the card which was won by number six - "Bunning's Big Boner" which paid a dividend to the four winning tickets of 31 - Mrs Bunning had one of them but alas her better half was swayed into backing number four - "Jordan's Out in Front " !

Particular thanks go to Richard for organising the evening and to Kevin from the Racenights company, Rich our impromptu "man on the tote" and the chap whose name I don't know but I shall call "Mr Innit" from Richmond Rugby Club who couldn't quite work out the lighting at times!

We (t'committee) would be keen to hear from those who came along just what they thought. E mails to mjb@blt.co.uk

Giddy up!
