Wimbledon Park 2011/09/29
It was a glorious sunny day with 29 WAGS and 2 guests in attendance at Wimbledon Park GC to compete for the oldest WAGS trophy – the Berring Bowl.
The morning event involved the Team Ball Challenge on the 1st nine holes. Mr Anthony Shutes managed to lose the very shiny pink ball with the very first shot of the day, by driving it out of bounds into the car park to the left of the 1st fairway!
The Team Ball Challenge was won by Team 1 – Graham Hansen, Rob Faulkner, Vip Patel & Chris Bunning with a total of 13 points – well done!
After lunch, the main stapleford event of the Berring Bowl. Once again there was more drama on the 1st tee with Mr Richard Latham managing to drive into one of his playing partners Nick Petrou! And on the 17th, Mr Peter Berring managed to drive into the fence to his left, followed by the next shot straight into the water. Excellent!
